A Slow a Day as King Zora - Part 13

Not everyone can have exciting episodes constantly...

I'm looking at you Dragonball Z...

So I will warn you lovely followers, that today will be a slow filler day. But fear not, this will end with something exciting happening. At least it was exciting for me, but you will all have to wait (or skip ahead, you bunch of rebels).

(for those of you who understand the reference, kudos)

As a reminder I need to find a Poké Flute to wake up the sleeping Snorlax that is blocking my way.

I have to go to Parfum Palace to get it, so I arrive there and of course Shauna is with me. If only I could...

When we get there the doorman tells us it will cost 1,000 Pokédollars.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Shauna says.

For once I agree with her, but I would've used a different phrase.

We both pay and start to head inside the doorman tells us that all the proceeds go to restore and upkeep of the palace.

Well that is a good cause then, I don't feel so bad --

"Probably..."

We get inside and some guy is screaming about how he lost his Furfrou.

I try to ignore him, but Shauna insists that we help him find it. But we aren't going to help him find it. We will be the only people looking for it. So just to spite her, I explore the palace real quick as I couldn't remember if there were items or trainers here.

I meet a guy who is admiring chairs, "Take a look at these chairs! The're chairific!"

I can't even make something like that up. He said that. And I slowly moved away from him.

I also see the painting of the apparent king that lived here. Who looks an awful like Alfred Molina...

I guess it's time to go and find that Furfrou...

And I talk to a gardener in the garden and wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am, he is all like, 'Yo here's HM Cut, it's all yours brah.'

But maybe in not those exact words.

Which I immediately teach to WenchWench, who will be my HM WenchWench.

And right after I do this, Furfrou runs up to me and says, "Ouaf".

Really? Its name sounds French. The way it barks sounds French. Even the way it runs looks French.

It runs away. I guess that's that and we should get going and find that flute --

"WhiteBeetch! Give me a hand!"

So she forces me to catch this pup, and tells me to command her, but she doesn't want to go into the places I want her to go in. What fun!

So we catch the dog and...

"WhiteBeetch, you're amazing!"

Well, uh, I... um...

The guy comes back and tells us he is going to give us a reward!

A fireworks show...

Shauna and I go up to the balcony of the palace to watch and Shauna decides she wants to unload on me.

"I really hope we get to be great friends, WhiteMistake..."

Wait, what... she used my real name.

"They haven't started yet, but I know I'll never forget these fireworks..."

Take it easy, I don't like you. And you I know you don't like me --

"... cause I watched them with you, WhiteMistake."

Furfrou guy to the rescue!

"And that was my wonderfrou fireworks show for my Furfrou."

He then explains to us that he can't get along with people who aren't rich like he is, and that he took the flute for a loan payment. What a scum bag.

I take the flute and run to Route 7 to confront the Snorlax.

This is the moment of truth. Either I can catch this, as it will be the first Pokémon I encounter, or I cannot catch a Pokémon on Route 7.

It's a good thing I like Snorlax.

I catch him and name him Squints.

Mainly because when it woke up, the text said that he opened his eyes wide.

See you all next time for a hopefully more exciting episode of my personal Nuzloke Challenge!

Bring On The Musical - Part 12

Today will be a training day. I need it after... the other day...

Flllllaaaassssshhhhbbbbaaaacccckkkkk.

If anyone forgot both Shevchenko and Neggs died. AND IT WAS TRAUMATIC.

I never want to go through that again... so...

Let's get down to buisness...
To defeat, the 'mons.

CUE THE MUSICAL NUMBER

Did they send me Seel?
When I asked for Dewgongs.

You're the weakest bunch I ever seen,
So let's go train, before we're through.
It's time to train, to evolve, all of you!

Tranquill's in the forest,

I don't have that one.
Murray you are up first,
Evolves, before twenty-one.
Stop your whinning and almost dying
You were Psychic, now Fairy too.
Murary evolved! Now evolve, the rest of you!

I'm never gunna catch 'em all,
Skeeter, you're gunna be the next one.
You'll be super helpful at the next gym.
Here, come out of your Pokéball.
An Audino! This will be just fun.

Evolved!

Now the next one will be him!

Evolve 'mon.
You'll be swift as a big Blastoise.

Evolve 'mon.
With all the attack like a Rattata,

Evolve 'mon.
With all the defense like a Nidoking.

She finally evolves, for her strong trainer Ma!

Ham n Cheese it's your turn, evolve for me.
Heed my every order, to evolve, you'll see.
You aren't the strongest for battle,
You are almost food for cattle.
You take way, too long to evolve.

Evolve 'mon
I'll evolve you much much later.
Evolve 'mon.
It will be in another short four.
Evolve 'mon.
Hopefully by then I won't be lazy,
And I won't need to evolve anymore.

And that was my training montage/ode to Mulan. Which is one of the greatest Disney movies ever made.

You go girl!

I would also like to apologize for that awful rendition of the song.

The Poké-Graveyard Begins - Part 11

Our journey has taken us to Route 6. I will admit that I look up what Pokémon there are on each Route, just as a reminder. As I only remembered three Pokémon in this area, I wanted to have an idea of what I could get and how I could get it.

Audino and Venipede are both in shaky bushes. Audino are great for quick leveling, but a Venipede would be awesome compared to Ham n Cheese (sorry buddy).

To be honest I don't even think Ham n Cheese notices anything going on... ever. He reminds me of someone...

ANYWAYS, there are also Honedge here, in the grass to the sides. A Honedge would be a nice edition to the team, helping me get a Pokémon with a little bit of everything and great defense. So I have some choices, but the two I want most are Venipede and Honedge.

I fight the first couple trainers and their levels are catching up to mine, but are fairly easy at this point.

And as I'm heading back to heal up before I try my luck at a Honedge, the bushes shake to my right and a Pokémon launches out at me.

This will be the first Pokémon I see here, which means it is either a Audino or Venipede...

NO WAY! Something I wanted! I love these guys! They are a quick Poison/Bug and a fast Poison Pokémon is a helpful Pokémon, especially with the addition of Fairy-type. Also when it evolves it looks pretty rad.

From its head to the end of its tail, on average it is over EIGHT FEET LONG. And it weighs over 400 POUNDS. The thing is huge, but it still has a base speed of 112, which is not too shabby. I like him, so I am stoked.

A friend recommended a name for this guy and he gets the name "Shevchenko", and it has the ability Poison Point at level 10.

Shevchenko, for those of you who do not know is a Ukrainian soccer player.

I welcome him to the team immediately by switching out Ham n Cheese for Shevchenko.

So let us get to training. Lots of Honedge are showing up, but I'm excited for Shevchenko, so I'm not too bummed. They are falling left and right, right and left. Shevchenko hits level 12 and another Honedge shows up and immediately does a Swords Dance. That's fine, Shevchenko just learned Pursuit, so they are going down faster and I don't need to switch him out anymore.

I deal about a third in damage. Nice shot! (see what I did there, it's like he's a soccer player)

The Honedge hits me for just above half. So that means I can survive another hit easy. I go to use Pursuit again, but...

I accidentally hit Rollout...

I will explain what Rollout does. It is a low power Rock move, that builds up in power everytime it hits, for five turns. Usually by the fifth turn it is dealing lots and lots of damage. Ront has this move and he abuses it. But when using this move you cannot cancel the move at all.

Or call back the Pokémon.

Honedge is strong against Rock moves since it is part Steel.

Which means this move will do nothing to it.

I can do nothing, but watch...

And Shevchenko... dies two hits later.

And it is because I was hitting moves too fast. I killed Shevchenko.

As the rules state... when a Pokémon... NO. A friend. Faints in battle... I must treat it as it has died and release it into the wild.

I go back to the Poké-Center and...

Goodnight, Sweet Prince...

I am distraught. It was my first loss of a Pokémon, and it was one I wanted. And I am ticked-off because it happened because I was careless. I can't let that happen again. And it happened fast. I need to beef these guys up and make sure this doesn't happen again.

I run back out and start training. Rocky style.

I won't let something happen like this again. Not on my watch.

Neggs is weakest on my team at this point so I send him out first. It's an Espurr. It's a creepy looking cat thing. It has one of the most vacant stares, one that even rivals Slowpoke.

It's only a few levels lower than Neggs, this will be simple. I Thundershock it and it is paralyzed. Sweet. And it brought it into the red, even better.

Espurr uses Confusion. It takes me down about a third, it was a hard hit, but that's okay. Neggs can take it.

Neggs however, becomes confused. That's still okay. Even if it damages itself it will have enough HP to be switched out. Neggs tries a Quick Attack, but hurts himself. He's just about at half health. That's plenty.

Espurr uses Confusion again.

No.

It can't be.

CRITCAL MOTHEROFGOD HIT

Neggs dies.

I finish that battle destroying Espurr with Rosco.

And I hold Neggs as I take it to the Poké-Center.

It is your turn as well, my dear...

Two Pokémon in the span of ten minutes of perished. One to my own error and the other simply because it was unlucky. Both of them were Pokémon that would have taken our team far, and now this Godforsaken challenge will be that much harder.

I will never forget the two of you.

I'm done for today.

My Team:
Ham n Cheese (Gulpin) level 15 - Route 5
Rosco (Pidgeotto) level 19 - Route 2
WenchWench (Bunnelby) level 15 - Route 3

Snorlax Wants To Be In Blaxsploitation - Part 10

I don't like hordes. Plain and simple. They always gang up on my Pokémon with Leers and Growls and Tail Whips and then start to tear apart my team with Pounds and Tackles and Quick Attacks. And Scraggy is even worse since it has Sand Attack. But since I kept fighting these Scraggy, that meant Rosco kept going out (Keen Eye helped out a lot here)... and suddenly...Rosco?

Rosco evolved! My first Nuzlocke evolution! This will help things move along a little easier now.

At this moment I make my way to Camphier Town.

I have a serious question now. How is that pronounced? Camp Friar? Camp fire? Camp feerer? Heck if I know.

So I walk into Campwhatever Town and explore a little bit. And I walk into a hotel. I'm talking to everyone and... suddenly my heart sinks.

And everything goes black. Again. And just as soon as it started it is over.

I stumble out of the hotel, head into Shabboneau Castle and almost immediately I hear the second most disheartening thing all day.

"Hi, WhiteBeetch."

Of course this day could get worse. Shauna has arrived. We hear that something is happening on Route 7 and she runs ahead. Good. I don't want to see her. So I try to go onto Route 6 and...

"WhiteBeetch!"

So I head down Route 7 and I see a big, fat, sleeping...

I could use him. I could use him a lot. Snorlax are good. I would like that, but I don't have a Poké-Flute.

If you didn't know you need one of these:

To awaken one of these:

You tend to get the flute in game at some point because you almost always need to move a sleeping Snorlax or two. They also come in handy in waking Pokémon that are sleeping in your party, instead of using a berry or Awakening.

I wonder if one of these guys has a flute for me to borrow so I can snag this tank of a 'mon.

Hey, guys do you have a Poké-Flute? You don't, huh... What do you mean you handed it over? Over to whom? What do you mean it wasn't handed over? It was taken?!

**(Warning to parents, I have to use this picture. It's to show my love to the movie and the fact that it fits so perfectly here. Cover them eyes, kiddies.)**

So apparently some place called Parfum Palace has it, so I just need to...

"C'mon WhiteBeetch! Let's go!"

I'll let Black Dynamite finish this post up with what I would want to do to Shauna right now.

My Team:

 Ham n Cheese (Gulpin) level 13 - Route 5
Rosco (Pidgey) level 18 - Route 2
WenchWench (Bunnelby) level 14- Route 3
Murray (Ralts) level 13 - Route 4
Neggs (Pikachu) level 13 - Santalune Forest
Ront (Dunsparce) level 14 - Route 22
